• Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with CBMM’s former Marketing Development Manager, Mr. Pascal Bodinon, who received the annual government “Friendship Award” for his excellent work in China in Beijing, capital of China, Spring 2006.

• In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of niobium science and technology in China’s automobile and transportation sectors, Mr. Marcos Stuart, the foreign expert of CITIC Metal, won the 2019 Chinese Government Friendship Award and received by national leaders and leaders of CITIC Group.

The successful marketing of niobium’s application had effectively promoted the transformation and upgrading of China's iron & steel industry

• Large dimeter, Nb-bearing X80 steel used for China-Russia East Line

• Niobium microalloying increases material strength and toughness simultaneously, allowing automotive industry to create safety design and achieve energy conservation

• Nb microalloyed High Performance Weathering Steels were Used in the First Uncoated Weathering Railway Large-scale Bridge- Lalin Yarlung Zangbo River Bridge in the Crucial Location of SiChuan-Tibet railway, as a key support for the Great Development in weastern China.

Community Affairs & Charitable Events

• In May 2023, CITIC Metal went to CITIC Hope Primary School to participate in the “Donated Materials and Fund Transfer Activity” and donated teaching equipment, clothing, textbooks, etc. from company employees to the school, teachers and students. We have also leveled Hope Primary School’s playground and provided long-term assistance in pairs to some students from disadvantaged families.

• CITIC Metal had funded the construction of 4 “Hope Schools” in Shanxi, Yunan, Xizang and Henan provinces, contributing the development of fundamental education in the poor regions of China
